What are the properties of Mousseline?
Mousseline is made from fine yarns in a relatively light woven construction. The fabric combines softness with enough stability for easy cutting and sewing. Cotton Mousseline has a matte, natural hand and can have a subtly irregular surface depending on the yarn and finishing. The exact softness, body and drape vary with weave density and finishing.
How does Mousseline feel?
Mousseline feels soft, light and comfortable against the skin. Cotton qualities usually have a dry-soft rather than slippery hand.
The surface can feel slightly crinkled or relaxed, especially after washing. Embroidered versions have more texture where the decorative stitching is applied.
